Remote Sensing Systems (REMSS) is seeking to hire a scientist whose primary focus will be applying satellite microwave remote sensing of the atmosphere and ocean surface to climate research. The work involves the on-orbit calibration of satellite sensors, analysis of satellite observations, development of retrieval algorithms, and validation of final products leading to the publication of scientific papers.

This position requires a strong background in physics/mathematics, exceptional analytical abilities, and demonstrated written and oral communication skills. The position is full-time and offers competitive salary and benefits.

REMSS is a small research company dedicated to the production and analysis of high-quality, long-term, oceanographic and atmospheric data sets for NASA and NOAA. REMSS was established in 1974 and is located in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California, USA. REMSS is an EOE.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of microwave radiometers.

Advanced degree in physics, atmospheric science, physical oceanography, EE, or similar.

Extensive experience with FORTRAN, and MATLAB or IDL.

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.

Relocation to Santa Rosa, California (population 150,000), 1 hour north of San Francisco.
